Letter From Membership Vice President

Dear Potential New Member,

    Welcome to Alpha Xi Delta, we are the Delta Mu chapter here at Old Dominion University. We are all so excited you are interested in our chapter and all that you could bring to our sisterhood. Joining Fraternity and Sorority Life is an amazing opportunity during your college career that allows for lifelong friendships, philanthropic opportunities, leadership positions, and many other impactful benefits. Since our founding in 1893, the sisters of Alpha Xi Delta have focused on leadership, service, knowledge, and sisterhood as our core values. Nationally, we have grown to over 100 chapters, and continue to work to grow and expand our sisterhood. Our philanthropy, working to help support children who are experiencing foster care and homelessness through the Kindly Hearts Initiative. This is a new and exciting philanthropic opportunity that we are so grateful to be working with.

    Personally, joining the sisterhood of this chapter has brought me many wonderful opportunities that have enriched my life in the best possible ways. Since becoming a member of Alpha Xi Delta, I have learned and received so many skills from the environment around me. From my sisters, I have learned that lifelong friendships can be formed with any sister and can support you through anything. Through my chapter, I have received countless memories from my college career, and learned how to navigate different leadership and philanthropic positions. Through events, I have received a greater bond with my sisters, both locally and nationwide, as well as the empowerment of women working with an organization greater than ourselves.

    Alpha Xi Delta’s priority is inspiring women everywhere to “realize their potential” and to build a strong and diverse sisterhood that encourages women to be their best selves. I have been truly amazed by everything Alpha Xi Delta has brought me, I hope you find a place that feels like home to you, the way that my chapter feels for me!

    As you continue through the recruitment process we encourage you to keep an open mind, be yourself, and to find a place that feels like you are truly with your sisters. We can’t wait to meet you, learn more about you and your ideas, and share everything our chapter has to offer with you!
